Kane County’s Growing for Kane HIA has spurred continuing work around locating a food hub in Kane County, which was one of the recommendations in the HIA report.  The full report is available here: http://kanehealth.com/PDFs/HIA/KaneCountyHIAReportFinal.pdf and information on the food hub is here: http://www.countyofkane.org/FDER/Pages/foodHub.aspx

The American Planning Association published a report in 2016 titled The State of Health Impact Assessment in Planning. The report “asks ‘How can the use of the HIA in planning go one step further to promote healthy planning from the start?’” and then examines themes from 134 HIAs addressing planning questions. One of the case studies included in the report is the report Jackie Forbes’ mentioned, the Kane County HIA. You can find the report HERE.
