The Rural Health Information Hub has assembled a robust Rural Food Access Toolkit. This online toolkit compiles evidence-based and promising models and resources to support organizations implementing food access programs in rural communities across the United States.
The modules in the toolkit contain resources and information focused on developing, implementing, evaluating, and sustaining rural food access and food security programs. There are more resources on general community health strategies available in the Rural Community Health Toolkit.
The following modules are available:
Introduction – overview and challenges
Program Models – model programs that increase access to healthy foods
Program Clearinghouse – program examples
Implementation – issues to consider
Evaluation – evaluation tools
Sustainability – planning for sustainability of a program
Dissemination – ideas and resources for sharing results with your community
