Healthy Communities Illinois (HCI) is a collaborative effort led by the American Planning Association – Illinois Chapter (APA-IL), Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI), and Plan4Health.

American Planning Association Illinois Chapter

The American Planning Association – Illinois Chapter is the official membership association for practicing urban planners in the State of Illinois. APA-IL strives to inform, educate, and connect our members to resources and tools that advance the practice of urban planning throughout the state. APA-IL’s central mission is “Making Great Communities” happen all across Illinois.

The Plan4Health project leverages planners’ roles as collaborators and conveners to improve health outcomes. Anchored by American Planning Association (APA) chapters and American Public Health Association (APHA) affiliates, Plan4Health supports creative partnerships to build sustainable, cross-sector coalitions. Plan4Health is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and managed through APA’s Planning and Community Health Center.
